Browsing homes is exciting, but preparing for the purchase is just as valuable. Before you start scheduling showings, take time to understand the process and identify the questions you need answered.

As a Florida real estate professional, I encourage buyers to build that foundation early. For residents of Orange County and the City of Orlando, Homebuyer Education Seminars offer an opportunity to get started.

Can you attend at no cost?

The seminar is free for Orange County or City of Orlando residents who can provide the required proof of residency.

Before registering, check that your documents reflect your current address. A little preparation can make the registration process easier.

What should you bring?

Your driver’s license will be checked to verify your residency. If it does not show your current address, bring either:

• A recent utility bill in your name showing your current address.

• Your lease agreement.

Having the right paperwork ready helps avoid questions about your eligibility for the no-cost seminar.

When is a registration fee required?

A $100 fee per person applies if you are not an Orange County resident or cannot provide proof of residency, under the seminar’s registration terms.

If payment is required, you can select a credit or debit card payment during registration or choose to bring a money order on the day of the class.

Seminar fees are nonrefundable once registration has been submitted. Review your information and the registration terms carefully before completing the process.
